Yay! Second post! I am already doing better than my Twitter fail. I figure now is a good time to write a little bit about myself and why I started this blog (aside it being the savvy thing to do). When I started thinking about creating a blog, my first problem was deciding what to blog about. Should I write about my experiences as a recent college grad trying (mostly in vain) to land a job? Or about my (hopefully temporary, but who knows in this economy) job waiting tables in a family restaurant, a la "Waiter Rant"? Or I could write about books (I am trying to break into the publishing industry, so perhaps a book blog would impress future hopeful-employers). Or, I could write about traveling, one of my great loves, which I have lately been thinking about A LOT as a possible alternative to wasting away in chain restaurant hell.
Well, instead of choosing just one topic, I am going to write about ALL of these. Throw in a few rants, a few deep, philosophical questions and voila! My blog.
Now, a brief explanation of my blog title. I had a few really great titles in mind, for focusing on my various topics. But, as it turns out. they were ALL taken already! Don't you hate it when that happens?! So I had to think of something else. I am a bookworm. Its a fact of my life, always has been. Another fact: I went to school in New York City, absolutely LOVED it, and I'm hoping to move back soon (and not wait tables there). I'm sure both of these elements will crop up here and there in my future blog posts (which there will be many of, I swear!).
So there you have it. A very brief introduction to me. In summary: recent college grad, waiting tables, waiting for a job, loves traveling, books and New York City. There's a lot more to me (I'm deep in a non-angsty way, I hope), but that's enough for a first date!
